One of our most important partners develops, manufactures, installs and services cyclotrons and chemistry systems used in cancer, Alzheimer’s and cardiovascular diagnostics. The cyclotron is a particle accelerator that produces short-lived radioactive isotopes. Together with a sugar molecule, they form a tracer that can be injected into the patient. When the cancer cells consume the sugar solution, the tracer appears on an image.
